Apple may never have another product as successful

But despite a hunger for the next big thing among consumers and investors, do not expect another blockbuster anytime soon.
The Cupertino, Calif.-based business AAPL 0.23% reported third quarter revenue of $37.4 billion - 53% of which was attributed to iPhone sales alone. On the negative, no other product comes close to creating those types of amounts.
"We doubt Apple will have another $90 billion-plus merchandise any time soon," says Brian Colello, analyst at research firm Morningstar. For better or for worse, the iPhone will be the company's core business for quite a while, he says. "A communicating apparatus is just more important than other kinds of consumer products - iPod for music in the past and iWatch for fitness in the future. Mobiles are normally one or more per individual instead of one or more per family like PCs and tablet computers." Folks own more phones than another gadget, the person includes.
Thus far, the sales of the iPhone are not easy to beat, even by Apple. In financial 2013, Apple earned over from your iPhone, a product that injected new life. "We think they will get close to, but not exactly, $100 billion in fiscal 2014," Colello says. Including the first three quarters of fiscal 2014, since its beginning, the iPhone generated in revenue. But Neil Mawston, analyst at Strategy Analytics, says, cheap nike blazers for women."The days of actually revolutionary innovation may be around for Apple."
And it's also a lot less easy to keep a trade secret in 2014, an age when leaked photos and videos from manufacturers -- imitation or not -- pop up on the Internet, than it was in 2007 when the first iPhone was found, Mawston says. And, the person adds, other firms have beefed up their own research and development sections so they do not let one company get the jump on an entire product category again. "Apple now is tracked and copied too closely by the computing and media industries to create surprise products," he adds.

Apple will likely focus on enhancing existing products. "There are not any immediate silver bullets on the horizon for anyone," says Scott Davis, chief growth officer at advertising consultancy Prophet. The person says there's more pressure on Apple CEO Tim Cook to instigate the exact same upheaval in consumer electronics that Steve Jobs helped create with th womens nike blazers low. iPod replacing the Walkman and iPhone replacing all other smartphones of that era.
Apple's magic comes from re inventing rather than inventing products, says Aram Sinnreich, media professor. The 2002 Palm OS Treo smartphone had a touch screen and keyboard. "Apple designed, packaged, advertised and promoted the smartphone in a sense that helped to spur mainstream adoption," he says. "I could readily see it doing the same thing with wearable computing, automotive networking, cloud services or other cyborgian stuff." (Imagine Google Glasses that your grandmother might be comfortable wearing.)
Placing that kind of postage on a product class that goes world-wide is no small accomplishment, says Louis Ramirez, senior editor at DealNews.com. "Apple will d nike blazer pink.finitely have another super merchandise and steal everyone's thunder," the person says. Smartphones were dominated by Palm, Nokia, and BlackBerry and, today, Garmin GRMN dominates wearables 0.49% 0.43% and Fitbit. "Apple will shortly launch an iWatch that can join the finest traits of every wearable in the marketplace nowadays," Ramirez says. "This product will attract everyone -- and not just fitness geeks."
But can lightning extremely strike twice for one business? Mawston says once may be enough.. "Apple's iPhone may eventually become more like Porsche's 911 sports car, turning into a mature 'halo' version that enables the firm to sell a wide variety of other market-but-profitable devices on the back of the iPhone's success," he says.
Technology advisor Jeff Kagan concurs: "We can ask the same question of J.K. Rowling about her Harry Potter novels. Will the person ever have a hit the size of Harry Potter again? Perhaps, but it's not likely."
